Do you have back pain, achy feet, a crick in your neck, swollen ankles or stiff knees? Suffer from “Barista Wrist” or “Barista Thumb” (it’s a thing! Look at yours now–it wasn’t always crooked!)? Believe feeling like you’ve been hit by a truck when you get out of bed in the morning is just part of the job, right? Definitely not!
This two-hour workshop with Pilates Teacher and Barista Movement Consultant Marcia Polas will explore and demonstrate basic tools to recover quickly post-shift and prevent damage from the repetitive motions inherent in our work as baristas. Regain your dexterity, flexibility and stamina as you learn optimal ways to stand, tamp, pour, and grind coffee with intentionality behind your movements.
$25 with online pre-registration, $30 at the door. Space is limited, so pre-registration is highly recommended to guarantee a spot!
