DMV Coffee exists in order to create a safe space for coffee professionals to exist, learn, develop, and grow and to that end, we are dedicated to creating a safe, harassment-free event for everyone. This Code of Conduct is one tool that we will use in order to help create this space for everyone involved. The Code of Conduct covers all events (Event/Events) including, but not limited to: Throwdowns, Competitions, Happy Hours, Talks/Lectures, Town Halls, and Panel Discussions and will be in effect at all Events sponsored or co-sponsored by DMV Coffee.

Everyone attending, participating (Attendee), sponsoring (Sponsor), or hosting (Host/Venue) any Event must agree and adhere to the following code of conduct throughout the event. We expect cooperation from all Attendees, Sponsors, and Hosts to help ensure a safe environment for everyone.

Harassment includes unwanted verbal comments relating to gender, gender identity and/or expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, childbirth or medical condition. It also applies to unwanted sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of any Event, inappropriate physical contact, and unwanted sexual attention.

If you are being harassed, notice that someone is being harassed or have any other questions, comments, or concerns, please contact DMV Coffee Board or venue Host (Staff) member for assistance immediately. Staff will be pointed out at the beginning of each event to the attendees so that they are easily identifiable.

If immediate contact is not possible, please contact DMV Coffee via the email below or any means possible.

If someone has made an Event unsafe either through harassment or other means or has a history of creating unsafe spaces for attendees of any Event held by DMV Coffee or another organization, the Staff may take any action they deem appropriate. These actions may include but are not limited to, warning the offender, expulsion from the event without refund, or banning from any future Events.

Staff will be happy to provide escorts, contact local law enforcement, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of the event.

If at any time you feel that your personal safety or the safety of others is threatened, please contact 911.

If you are removed or have a post removed and wish to contest it, feel free to email/contact DMV Coffee

We expect everyone to follow this code of conduct at all DMV Coffee related Events.
