TNT, otherwise known as Thursday Night Throwdown, is a community building event. Our goal is to come together once a month as coffee professionals and enthusiasts, of all different kinds, and share our mutual passion for all things coffee.

TNT History

Public Throwdowns first started (as far as anyone can tell) May 2nd, 2007, at the SCAA Event in 2007 (info here). The first regional group TNT (that we can tell!) was started by our friends at Octane Coffee. They did an excellent job creating a space that breaks the barista, customer, roaster, barriers and brings people together. We were so inspired, we thought we’d bring the project to Washington, DC. Like Octane, we hope to meet new people, make new friends, and share our love for coffee.

As far as we can tell (again, TNTs are mostly things of legend and oral history so it’s hard to figure out) DMV Coffee has the longest running monthly Throwdowns in the nation, which is something we are super proud of and intend on continuing.

DC TNT Information
